Hotel Residence S. Andrea degli Armeni is an elegant antique hotel located in the old town of Taranto, next to the old church of S. Andrea degli Armeni  (1373-1573), one of the five Armenian churches in Italy. The building was an integral part of the church.  Situated on the corner between Via Paisiello and Piazza Monteoliveto,  it still exudes the charm of an ancient, historical building. All the rooms are bright and very welcoming and refined in every details to guarantee a comfortable and warm atmosphere.

The hotel is located near the train station and the historical centre of the town. The hotel is surrounded by the most important monuments of the city: the Sanctuary "Madonna della Salute" which dates back to the 17th century, the birthplace of the musician Giovanni Paisiello, Palazzo Gallo (renovated in the 18th century and linked to the name of Princess Maria D'Enghien). The hotel is near "Via Duomo " and Mar Grande.

The roof terrace is the highest place to be in the whole city. View is exceptional and stuff so friendly. It is located in the old town and all surroundings add a scent of mysticism! It is 15' from the town's center, but that's not a minus. Quiet - Friendly - Nice.

There are no bars staying late in the region. There is no restaurant too. You have to walk to the town's center.

De locatie is goed, en het dakterras is heel mooi. Het uitzicht vanaf dit terras is erg mooi. Het kamermeisje was heel vriendelijk en legde alles goed uit

De staf kon iets vriendelijker zijn. Hoe te werken met de keycart was bijvoorbeeld iets wat de receptie had moeten uitleggen. Bij het ontbijt had ik het gevoel dat het toch wel storend was voor het personeel dat er gasten waren. Verder werden we kort voor de tijd van een wijziging op de hoogte gebracht. Goed dat we tijdens de reis internet checkten anders waren we voor een dichte deur komen te staan.

Der Sercice war entgegenkommend und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer waren in Ordnung.

Wir wurden nicht in der gebuchten Residence untergebracht, sondern in einem zur gleichen Leitung gehörenden Hotel.Lage inmitten der ziemlich runtergekommenen Altstadt.Ein angepriesenes Abendessen im Hotel war überteuert.

Taranto is a commercial port surrounded by industrial activity. The hotel, although welcoming has no views and is located in a run down part of the old town. Historically interesting but not picturesque.
