Hotel Akropolis is a prestigious and elegant hotel, located in the heart of the old town centre in Taranto. Just a few minutes walk from the train station and the city centre, its ideal location offers panoramic views over the two Seas from its terrace. The Hotel was built on an ancient palace, which was remodelled in the eighteenth century and enlarged in the nineteenth century. It has retained the original structures including the basement and the original floors, different in every room, dating from the eighteenth century to the present days. The hotel has 13 beautiful rooms.

Taranto, known as the City of the Two Seas, is a former colony of the Magna Greacia. Hotel Akropolis takes its name from its unique location: in fact, it stands on the spot where once stood the Greek Akropolis in Taranto. The historic town centre, which originally was an island, is now connected to the mainland by two bridges, the Stone Bridge and the Swing Bridge from which you can enjoy the view over the two seas, the marina, the Aragonese Castle, etc.. Provincial capital, an industrial city rich in historical traditions, Taranto houses priceless treasures: the Gold collection at the National Archaeological Museum, the Cathedral of San Cataldo, the cloister of San Domenico, the Aragonese Castle and many more.
