Next stage is the important town of Martina Franca, a beautiful Baroque city, part of the slow food movements and renowned for its Capocollo (dry cured meat). The tour then moves to Grottaglie, to visit the famous ceramics producers and then to Manduria, a town south of Taranto, famous for its DOC Primitivo wine, a full-bodied red wine exported worldwide, and for its Messapian archaeological site (which includes megalithic walls and necropolis).
