Puglia is one of the most important wine-producing regions not only in Italy but across Europe. For a long time the region was a major producer of blending wine, which were sent to other regions to contribute to the production of other wine. Currently the region has acquired its own wine identity and is on the market with excellent products, coming from all the areas. Locorotondo and Castel del Monte are the two most renowned white wines, while among red wines there are the Primitivo, Negroamaro and Salice Salentino.

Verdeca wine

The extensive vineyards of Apulia, guarantee a large wine range. Among the peculiar wine, it stands a native wine called “verdeca” produced in Gravina.

The Verdeca is a blend of Malvasia, Greco and Bianco di Alessano variety; is a sparkling white wine, produced during the annual fair of St. George in Gravina.

Another wine produced in the area is the Gravina DOC . It has a greenish color, a pleasant taste, dry and fresh.
